At Harmony High School, a small rural school hidden in the hills east Texas, a celebration is in order. Though this school is already known for their competitive and successful academics, two of their students competed in one of the toughest UIL competitions and came out on top.
The school’s CX Debate team consisting of James Hardy and Madison Ollive placed 1st in the district tournament. This accomplishment earns them a trip to the state debate competition in March at the University of Texas, where they will compete against approximately 60 other teams. Along with a 1st place medal, the team also tied for the top speaker of the district tournament, a rare feat in the world of speech and debate.
Congratulations to this team and all of the other teams advancing to the state tournament.
